I have a love for overstuffed Bergere chairs and club chairs too. Lately we have been buying different pieces for seperate rooms throughout the house. Our goal was to stick to one room at a time.NO LUCK SO FAR...... However if we did so we would miss out on so many bargains. For 2 years I have been sending pictures of furniture items that I dreamed of. Just the pictures every Sailor wants while he's out to Sea :) So over the weekend while combing thru a 2nd hand furniture store we spotted our dreams chairs. Now disregard that lovely 90's mauve fabric. Trust me there's a dumpster longing to meet it. These sweet babies are gonna get all new fabric, foam, and that would color........well let's just say it won't look like that either. Hey for $335 for the pair when all the ones I have been daydreaming over range from $700 to $1400 each. I'd say well done.

Be sure to show the updated version in a couple weeks.

Bedhead and Curls.

I promise to bring you more exciting news than this later. For now let's talk about my once a day challenge. See every morning I rise and I open all the blinds and curtains. As I move closer to Holden's room I began to call his sweet little name. I can hear him giggling and turning over in his sheets. Pause.....am I really thinking this is gonna be a sweet morning. Do I really fool myself into thinking today I will bathe him (easy part), brush his teeth (easy part again). Then OH NO here comes the hairbrush and I can just see the sweetness fading from his face as he starts to swipe is little fist at my hand, the brush and his head. How can such a precious kid become so angry so fast? I love him dearly and I just keep thinking to myself, one day he's gonna not like the BEDHEAD and CURLS.

Gabe's Teen Room

Back in August 2011 when we moved into this house my little guy expressed his decorating dilemma LOUD & CLEAR. He kindly (so my feelings wouldn't be crushed) said mom I like when you decorate and make it a nice. BUT, it's just to girly and plush for me. We all chuckled, his face was priceless. We had already promised to make changes to his room first. He wanted a modern teen room and there was no changing his mind. He explained no themes, no ruffles, and no painted furniture. He wanted dark woods and a flashy bed. He's a polite, funny and smart southern gentleman. So I decided I would oblige. So with our Ikea budget, a couple miscellaneous furniture items and pictures from my husbands first apartment we went to work. Now we just have to finish covering about 40 more books and replace his carpet with black and white Flor tiles. As for completing his bookshelves we told him he can add to them as he grows and sees fit. I hope everyone enjoys what we came up with on our 600 dollar budget.
